We’re looking for a Virtual Assistant to join our small virtual, entrepreneurial team that’s leveraging our organizational nerdiness to make small businesses stronger.

Who is A Squared?

We partner with copywriters and other service providers who have reached capacity and are beginning to seek growth in their companies. Our clients are providing a valuable service to their customers, but they need structure in their businesses to streamline how they operate, and they’re not sure where to start.

Why We Help Them

We believe in the power of small business to be a force for good in communities. We also believe that great small businesses shouldn’t burn out their founders (though they often do). Our vision is to build breathing space into small businesses so their owners can focus on critical strategic tasks as they grow rather than being trapped in the weeds and unable to delegate effectively. Too many small business owners are constantly overwhelmed and experiencing death by a thousand paper cuts as the entire business rests on their shoulders.

How We Help Them

We’re good at bringing order out of chaos and helping our clients make the transition from scrappy freelancer to bona fide business through amazing processes and systems. We offer five services:

Ongoing Support: We serve as the part-time COO for some of our clients’ businesses. This means we help them solve problems, get things done, break a big vision down into steps, and keep track of everything.

Process & Systems Design Intensive: We proactively build customer experience processes that help companies both delight their customers and operate with nearly effortless efficiency. A streamlined customer experience is a great first step for businesses seeking to build the systems they’ll need to grow sustainably.

Process & Systems Implementation: We have ongoing calls with clients over a period of about six months to assist with implementing changes such as setting up new software systems, creating a systematized client onboarding process, or automating workflows to streamline project management.

Finding a Virtual Assistant Program: We help small businesses prepare for, find, hire and train a Virtual Assistant. Our goal is to ensure the pieces are in place for a successful working relationship on both sides. We work with the business owner to create the foundation for adding support staff, including having the right systems in place. We handle the job posting, reviewing applications, and the initial interview process. The top candidates are referred to our client for final interviews and selection. We then assist in onboarding and training the new Virtual Assistant.

Project Management Program: We assist business owners with getting organized, setting up processes and developing project management systems that work for them. We train them on change management, time management, and ways to systematize and automate their business to maximize their time and increase their efficiency.

What Is the Job Like?


You may be involved in any of the following:

*Support the A Squared Team

-Assist with delivering our process & systems services

-Potentially work into a process design client-facing role

*Support A Squared Clients with tasks such as–

-Website updates

-Social media posting and interaction

-Finding speaking/guest podcasting opportunities

-Software updates/edits



-Onboard new clients using 17hats

-Manage tasks / track time in Jira

-Complete our monthly invoicing process

-Make updates to our website


A successful candidate will have all of the traits below:

“here’s how I can help you….”

-If someone comes to you with a vague need or a problem, you know how to find the

request behind the request and eliminate that pain point. You see the process all the

way through.

-You don’t present a problem without also offering a potential solution.

*You communicate incredibly well over the phone and in writing

-You know how to create a professional, clear, and concise email, and how to create

and follow a clear agenda for phone calls.

-Our clients are amazing human beings. We have a lot of respect for them and run our

business with them in mind. We want you to like them too.

The Logistics

This is a flexible, fully virtual position. You’ll be working 10-15 hours weekly for a month or two as we train you and ramp you up, but you have the opportunity to work anywhere from 15 – 40 hours per week depending on what you’re looking for.

A Squared’s founder is the primary caregiver to an infant, so our culture is meant to be flexible around our team’s lives and families. You won’t have set required hours every day, we don’t operate in crisis mode, and we respect evenings and weekends. We will treat you like an adult and trust you accordingly. In turn, we’ll ask you to earn that trust through regular, proactive communication and being incredibly reliable about attending every scheduled meeting on time.

You will need a reliable internet connection that can handle video calls, and a quiet, private environment when you’re talking with a client. Most of our calls happen between 10 am and 2 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so if you have a little one, you will need childcare during that window of time.

This job isn’t meant to be a side hustle. It won’t be the right fit for you if you have another full-time job. While the job is flexible, you’ll need to join for calls during normal office hours (in the Mountain time zone) and be able to plan on working daily.

We will pay around $15 / hour to start depending on your level of experience.
