Right before I graduated, I got into a deep conversation with one of my cohort-mates. We were both about to get married to these great guys and thinking about what our new lives were going to look like – we had these fancy (read: expensive) MBAs and a lot of ambition and excitement…but we also wanted kids someday.
It felt like our ambition and our desire for family were in conflict.
Like we had to choose the MBA career, with its long hours and travel, OR the kind of lifestyle we wanted.
Living in America, we’re all handed a script. The script says: graduate from college, get a job, work your way up until you’re 65, then retire.
But what if we don’t like that script? What if it doesn’t fit? What if we feel stifled in the corporate world and feel the desire to build something for ourselves?
THIS is why I love Ash Ambirge. She burns the script in her own fully unique, irreverent, creative and brilliant way.
She and I share a first name but not much else…we are very different, and my brand will never look like hers.
And that’s the POINT.
She has her own script, and through it, she’s helped me recognize that I can write my own.
Last month, we got to talk directly for 15 minutes, and she packed a lot of insight into that short time span. I think you’ll enjoy this conversation.
