When power is good… and together is better

Every year, I pick a word to be the theme of the year – it points to something I’m trying to learn or incorporate into my business in a deep way.

Last year, the word was power. It’s not a word that brings up particularly positive associations for me…which is why I picked it. I wanted to redefine the word “power” in my own mind away from dictatorship and greed. Power can mean so many positive things – agency, stewardship, abundance, protection, bringing good into the world – all of which are things I want for my business. I want to recognize where I have power and influence and leverage that power to be a force for good.

This year, our theme word is together. I have been learning more and more that, not only is it impossible for me to build this business on an island alone, I don’t want to. I want a team, mentors, clients we serve well, partners, and collaborators. I want to hear others’ voices and make the entire industry better. I want to create really amazing jobs that open the door for people to work part-time from home.

We all rise together.

There’s plenty of room for all of us, and we all stand to gain when we join forces and share the joys and burdens of entrepreneurship.

So, that’s what we’re hoping to build towards this year. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.

We’d love to hear from you… what is something you’re wanting to build this year?
