“Every system is perfectly designed to get the results it gets” ~ Paul Batalden

This quote reminds me of all the times I want to blame my computer for being stupid.

I’d much rather think it’s going haywire on its own than acknowledge that it’s following my orders.

My business is the same way.

Come to think of it, so is my life.

If I’m stressed out, it’s usually because I’ve made decisions and commitments or set standards for myself that have led to that result.

My vacuuming system (read: non-vacuuming system) is perfectly designed to give me an annoying carpet.

My marketing system is perfectly designed to give me the exact amount of visibility I have today.

If I want a different result, I need to change the system.

HOW to do that is the hard part. But I’m learning, slowly and painfully (especially in marketing) that I have to be willing to experiment and fail to find the system that will ultimately get me the result I want.

What system comes to mind that you might want to change to give you a different result?
